The last few weeks have seemed to be a whirlwind with little time for rest. It is hard to believe we are already into the second week of July. However, despite how busy things have been we have really been enjoying our summer thus far.
Antie Christina has been working at the Science Centre this summer and is able to give us a great deal, so a couple weeks ago Jennie and antie Jana took the kiddies. They all had a blast learning about the human body with their favorate Sesame Street characters. 
Griffin especially liked pushing the button to make poop. It was a good time and the kids are still raving about it. Last weekend was the big Gibb family reunion and Hillspring Canada Day celabrations. As usual it was fun weekend full of Food, Homemade Rootbeer, visiting and much more. We arrived at the Gibbs (The Meadows) Thursday evening and spent Friday mostly chilling with Grandma, Grampa, Ashley, Emma and Kaylee. 
On Saturday Hillspring celebrated Canada Day with the usual Pancake breakfast, parade down mainstreet, Talent show program (of which Jennie participated in a 60's & 70's fashion show) and of course beef and beens in Spring Glen Park. Saturday night the Gibb family held the annual Roman Candle War. This tradition encompases Uncle Larry in Farm Coveralls and face protection driving his quad around his field while the male cousin's pelt him with Roman Candles. Yes you heard me right, like you I am surprised no has been seriously harmed as of yet. This was followed by a very impressive fireworks display by Jen's cousin.

Sunday and Monday were pretty laid back. It was nice and hot so Uncle Larry brought out the water truck and firehose which made for some excitement. Further, what trip down to the farm would be complete without Griffin taking a "spin on the tractor and quad" . On our way home we stopped in to the Raymond First of July Celeabrations on Tuesday with Jen's Amen cousins and Grandma and Grandpa.
So as you can see we have had an exciting couple of weeks which yesterday was topped off with our community stampede parade and breakfast. Our summer is definatly in full force and we still have much to look forward to.
